Dreaming..

These past couple of days with all the snow and ice, I have been dreaming of taking a nice get away to beach. Since that is not possible right now, I am going to continue to dream! This is a picture we took of Aiden from our trip to Florida last August. I was browsing through some of my pictures and forgot what a good one this was and wanted to share.

This has been a pretty good week, we had an unexpected snow day on Wednesday. Aiden's daycare was closed for the day which has never happened in the three years he has attended. I was surprised but more than likely would have kept him at home with me anyway that day. It's not easy keeping an energetic 5 year old occupied all day indoors!

Amy and I went to get pedicures which was super relaxing! I am going to make it a priority to go get them more now that painting my toenails in nearly impossible! Then, we went to the Oliva Garden for dinner. It was so good, especially the bread sticks with Alfredo sauce!

This weekend we are babysitting little Seth so his Mommy and Daddy can go on a date night on Saturday evening. We are also heading to Babies R Us and Lowes tomorrow to start shopping for the nursery. I am very excited about that. I went to the library last night and got some books to get ideas for how we will paint the room. Hopefully I will have time this evening to look through those and come up with some ideas. My goal is to have everything ready in the nursery by March 1st just in case she decides to come a little early and so I can relax that last month instead of stressing over getting things done.

Sunday is the Superbowl. We are going to our neighbors house for a party. They have two girls and are kindly giving me some of their little ones clothes which I am so excited about. I am taking symphony brownies (Paula Deen recipe!) and some sweet meatballs in my crock pot, they are so easy to make...in case any wants to try them out, just put frozen premade meatballs, a jar of grape jelly and a jar of chili sauce in the crock put and let'em cook...they are so good!

I am looking forward to next weekend, next Saturday is my 3D/4D ultrasound appt! I hope little Ava co operates so I am see her tiny little face. I cannot believe we will be meeting her in 11 weeks! I am getting more excited every day!!!!!

I've been feeling a lot better this week. I haven't noticed the pressure as much but, I am not sure if that is because it's better or I have peace of mind that everything is okay from Monday's appointment. I just pray everything continues to go well and this little one stays where she belongs until it's the right time!

Maybe we will be able to take her to the beach this summer so she can wear her yellow polka dot bikini that Aunt Karen got her and her little pink sun glasses! Now that would be a great picture! EEEEK! A girl can dream! :-)

Today's Appt....

Just got back from my appointment.

Everything looked good, he checked my cervix and everything. I do have a polyp on my cervix which could have caused the spotting. He said it could just fall out on it's own but we certainly don't want to irritate it it could bleed or cause other problems. The pain and pressure is just because I am carrying so low and he said it happens a lot with second and third pregnancies so, it's uncomfortable but normal and I just have to take it easy. I feel much better just having peace of mind!

The shot was a piece of cake and I passed my glucose test with flying colors!!! YIPPEE
Oh, my weight finally did the jump! I knew it was going to happen.....sooner or later....up 8lbs since last month! Yes that was EIGHT in one month...yikes! No wonder I am feeling so much pressure!

So, back in two weeks for my next regular appt.

I did talk to the good nurse about my issue on Friday and she gave me the backdoor #'s to every office and her schedule to call her if I ever need anything So sweet!!! She was very understanding. But, she did say any bleeding should be checked just in case and if they can't get me into the office during normal business hours to go to L&D just in case. I am sure had I spoken to her Fri she would have fit me in. Just glad everything checked out okay! We also found out the nice nurse is from the same hometown as us....no wonder I liked her so much!! :-)

AHHHHH Freak out!

I am starting to freak out just a little bit... it all started Friday ( well all of last week ). I started having a lot of discomfort. I know, I should expect this because I am carrying another person inside my body and all that but, this did not and does not feel normal to me. It's a ton of pressure really low so I let it ride a few days to see what happened. On Thursday evening, I had a tiny bit of spotting (sorry if that is TMI) nothing major at all, I mean slight slight spotting when I wiped. But, it was enough to send me in panic mode. So, I kept an eye on things over night and in the morning I had just a tad more. So, I debated on if I should call my OB or wait until todays appt to talk to him about it. Being it was a Friday, I tried to think what advice I would give to someone in my situation and I decided just to call and talk to the nurse and see what she had to say about the situation. I was not sure which office my OB was working out of that day as he rotates offices. I called it mentioned he was in Dublin which is literally 5 minutes from my work so I left my message. So, the nurse calls back and it's not the one I particularly like, one of his nurses is wonderful, the other, not so much. I told her I had been experiencing a lot of pressure and pain throughout the week and had a little spotting which was a concern to me. She asked a few more questions. Then proceeded to ask me if I was at work. I was thinking okay she wants me to run over for a quick check...then she said, to go to L&D if I really wanted to get checked or go home and rest over the weekend "pelvic rest" no sex or anything in the vagina ( are you kidding me?? like that is the last thing on my mind right now lady!) if it gets any worse go directly to L&D. So I ask if my OB is in Dublin today as the message stated and she said yes but he is booked. That upset me, not a little but a lot! Okay- you want me to go to the L&D at the hospital where I will have to be admitted and hooked up to monitors for several hours, not to mention be charged probably several THOUSAND dollars for the trip?? He can't fit me into his schedule for 5 minutes to check me just in case?? Sadly, last time I called and thought I had a UTI the other nurse fit me in without any issues at all at the end of the day. Needless to say I was upset and decided just to go home and rest. I left work at lunchtime and took a nice nap when I got home after of course stopping for a double steak burger, cheese fries and a half and half milkshake from steak and shake (chocolate/banana, just in case you care :-))

So, Friday evening I did a bunch of cleaning or like organizing, just getting rid of old papers, including all my RE paperwork, which felt so good! Saturday, I woke up at 4:30 AM, bright eyed and had a snack, got online for a while and then went back to bed. Chris got up with Aiden at 7:30 ish so I slept in until 9:00 which was nice! We took out neighbor and Aiden to Galaxy Games which is a indoor playground to let them get out so energy. I sat around and did some people watching. ( very interesting crowd!) Then we went to dinner at cheeseburger in paradise. Sunday I woke up with Aiden so Chris could sleep a little longer then we went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast, which is my most favoritest place to eat breakfast! It was fabulous as usual! Then we went to the grocery store. Later that afternoon, Amy came over and we headed down into the basement, I told her to take what she wanted for Sethy from Aiden's old clothes and I went through his 0-3 month stuff and pulled out a lot of onsies and sleepers that I can use for Ava. I also found the bedding set so now I can use the pillow to match up the paint and some other things I need to get for the nursery. I really need to get started on that stuff! It's starting to drive me crazy, I have a little touch of OCD when it comes to having things on a to do list especially when I know there is a time limit involved!

This morning I woke up at 4:00 AM once again, and could not go back to sleep. I was a little uncomfortable. I also just kept thinking of all the things I need to do before the baby arrives....then I started thinking about my camera and how I don't like it at all so I need to take it back and get another one...then back to the nursery...then I thought I need a swaddler, they didn't have those when Aiden was a baby and she needs one of those...just everything you can imagine running through my mind....didn't fall back to sleep until probably 15 minutes before the alarm went off and I had to get up for work! Lovely...guess I better get used to it as in three months I will be having to get up several times to feed the little one.

So, I am heading to the OB here in a few minutes, Chris is picking me up at work. I plan on asking if he gets the messages when patients call in or if the nurses take those calls and decide on their own which are important enough for him to be notified since I am obviously still a little upset about Friday's events. I hate complaining about my aches and pains because I am truly so happy to be pregnant. This time around is a little different than with Aiden. I just want to make sure since I have feelings I didn't have when I was pregnant with him that everything is normal and the baby is healthy. I know she is moving like crazy so that gives me peace of mind. I also get a shot today in my butt, that should be fun! I am sure I will update later!

It's only just begun.....

This is too funny not to share....I went to pick up Aiden at daycare today. I was getting his stuff gathered up to head out the door when a little girl sitting there called my name...here is the conversation:

Girl: "Hey! Aiden's Mommy"
Me: "Yes"
Girl: "Me and Aiden falled in love"
Me: I laughed and said "You did?"
Girl: She said "Yes, we did" and proceeds to get up from her chair to hug him good-bye.

The teacher looks at her and says "No, you didn't you were just dreaming" and asks her to sit back down in her little chair.

The teacher and I both laughed and I told her I wasn't quite ready for these days just yet.

So, we get into my car and I asked Aiden, "Who was that little girl who said she was in love with you" and he said "her name is Julia". I said it back to him and he corrected me and said " NO Mom, Julia (apparently I was mispronouncing it!) She wasn't a "regular" from his class so I wasn't sure of her name.

So, then he says to me and I quote:

"Mom, I know how to make girls love me!" Then he repeats it again and said he was going to kiss her on the lips to which my response was, "No, the only girl you are kissing on the lips is your Mommy!"

WHAT?!?!?!? He's only 5!

I was laughing so hard I almost peed my pants right then and there!

Aiden's 5th Birthday Party

Here are some pictures of the Pump It Up party!

Third Trimester!!!!! (28 Week Belly Shot)

Here is my belly at 28 weeks, I find it so funny that my poor belly button refuses to pop out! Not that I mind much because I am not a huge fan of "outies" but it just looks so silly to me! Baby Ava seems to be doing well in there, she responds almost every time I eat. I joke around and say she is going to love food just like her Mommy! She also seems to be laying very low as I have started to get a lot of pressure down there lately. That can be a bit uncomfortable at times. I have my 28 week appt this coming Monday so I will ask the OB about that. I get a Rhogam shot in the butt Monday as well. Hopefully I passed my glucose test as I have not heard back and I assume no news is good news! I will start going every other week after this next appt. We also plan on scheduling a 3D/4D in the next couple of weeks. I am very excited about that!

Here I am trying to Hula Hoop at Aiden's Birthday party, that wasn't working out so well for me!

My Baby Boy is 5 Years old today!!!

Today is Aiden's birthday!!! I cannot believe he is 5 years old now! In some aspects it feels like yesterday we were at the hospital welcoming him into the world. It has been the best 5 years of our lives, watching grow and develop into the little man that he is today. He will always be my baby boy, even when he has kids of his own someday!

We had his birthday party this past weekend at Pump it up! There were about 20 of his friends from school, soccer and the neighborhood there to celebrate with him and he had a wonderful time. I will have to post pictures of him when I get them downloaded, hopefully tonight so I will have some to post tomorrow morning. I took cupcakes (Pupcakes as he calls them) for him to share with his classmates at daycare today. He was in a great mood this morning. Every morning I drop him off at school he runs to the side door and waves to me as I drive past and I blow him kisses. Today when he did it, I got a little teary eyed!!! I can only imagine how I am going to act on his first day of kindergarten! (we actually have pre-registration this week!!!EEEK!!!)

A weekend cannot pass without some type of incident. We noticed our furnace acting funny yesterday, so last night Chris tried to turn it off and back on and it started making an awful noise and the house smelled as if something was burning. We called in for service and told them we would wait until this morning for them to come out. It wasn't too bad last night, we just bundled up under the covers. This morning was a little chilly but, we got through it. Apparently we had a blower go out and they were able to fix that this morning.... ($548.00 later...ouch). At least we will have a warm house tonight and we have each other, that is all that really matters!

Prayer Request

One of my dear friends from my trying to conceive message board lost one of her twins yesterday. She is also from Columbus. She is a wonderful person and one of the most giving people I have ever met. She gave birth to twin girls in November, Natalie and Gabby. Gabby was born with CDH (Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia). Leslie relocated in the final weeks of her pregnancy to be in Cincinnati for delivery so that Gabby could receive the most advanced treatment when she was born. She went to heaven yesterday after fighting so hard to live for 10 weeks. Please keep Leslie, Scott and Natalie in your prayers as they deal with the loss of their beautiful Gabby. Leslie's blog is linked to mine, hers is called the decision tree. I am just so sad for them right now. The other little girl Natalie is doing well. I pray that they find peace knowing that their little girl is no longer suffering. I don't think there is any other pain as great as losing a child and my heart is just breaking for them right now. Please keep them in your prayers.

BRRRRRR!

Wow it's cold out there today! As I drove to work my car was reading NEGATIVE 2. Not sure what the wind chill was but they expect it to be even colder tomorrow! YIKES! I am spoiled at home and get the garage spot, for now we only have one since the spare bedroom furniture is down there waiting to be picked up tomorrow. I also get the privilege of parking in the garage here at work. I am sure everyone hates me here at work for getting to park down there as it's only for the BIG important people! But, I support those important people and I didn't ask for the space it was provided to me when I started and at the time I didn't even know there was a garage. So there, I deserve it! Plus I am pregnant and should get a pass for just about anything I want! (I plan on playing that card a lot the next three months since that is about all I have left in my entire life of being a pregnant woman!)

Yesterday I was having a bad day and posted a lengthy post, left it up for a few hours and decided to delete it. It was more or less a therapy post for me and I figured no one wants to hear about the pathetic issues I deal with in my life. I will just keep on keeping on as I have been, today is already a much better day for me! Even with the bitter cold, the sun is shining!

Mission Accomplished!

Mission Accomplished! I drank my stuff get to the lab early so I had just enough time to finish my New Moon books (I can start my Eclipse tonight, I am a Twilight addict now!) I go in and the lab woman asks if I had a fasting draw across the way, I didn't have a clue what she was talking about... I tell her no and she said Oh, like I was to get one done prior to this one. I told her the nurse instructed me to drink the bottle and get one draw an hour later. She basically said that is not how they normally do it. I tried to rememeber back 5 years but who can remmeber that long ago....so then she draws the one tube and I ask her if the RH factor will be tested from the same vial. (glad I asked!) First she said yes, then she acted confused and called someone to ask... of course she had to poke me again since she didn't pay attention to the sheet the first time! I left all worried that I did the glucose test wrong and would have to go back but called the nurse and she re assured me it was fine. My OB only requires the post drink test.. WHEW! I did eat a small bowl of raisen bran and probably shouldn't have, hopefully that doesn't have to much sugar in it...I guess we'll see! Needless to say I just ate lunch and am now working on a twix bar and some sour jolly ranchers!

Glucost Test Day & Misc Chatter

Today I am going to have my glucose test done. Hopefully I pass with flying colors because I don't think I could be on a restricted, especially during pregnancy! Things are moving along so quickly now! Chris and I just keep saying to one another "only three more months!" It's different this time around because we know what to expect with a new baby although, we don't know what to expect having a baby and a 5 year old, I am sure that will be a challenge at times. I have faith that we will handle it wonderfully! We were able to sell our spare bedroom furniture on craigslist so now we can start the nursery. We already moved the furniture out of there and it's funny now every time I pass the room I pause for a second and visualize what it is about to become in the coming weeks. We are more than likely going to purchase our new crib this weekend. I would have used Aiden's but it was damaged by water while sitting in the basement last year. I was upset but at the same time not devastated, luckily we didn't go out and spend a lot of money on a crib so, we will just have to get another. We have so many things we are going to re-use so that helps out financially. I started getting all my ducks in a row with STD through work. I plan on taking off 12 weeks, six of which are paid at 70% so not to bad. I look forward to being off during the spring and taking lots of walks! We also have a contact in our neighborhood who watches my neighbor's children so I am going to be calling to talk to her about the possibility of watching Ava once I return to work. I am almost certain that is my plan as of now, I have been at my current job for (going on) 4 years and really don't want to give up a good thing. I guess if I change my mind later I can always stay home. We will just see what happens in the coming months.

We have our first kindergarten meeting next week for Aiden. So hard to believe he will start school this year. We are going to attempt at getting him into an all day school in our district. That might be a bit of a challenge from what I hear but, it would work out so much better for us and I think he is ready for all day being he has been in an all day childcare environment for a few years. This weekend is his birthday party and I will be sure to take lots of pictures to post next week!

Little Ms. Ava

We have officially decided on a name for our new addition......

Ava Argia Ighnat

We both liked Ava and after discussing this is the one name that just stuck, so Ava she will be and her middle name is in honor of Chris's Grandma Argie, she is our last Grandmother here with us and we wanted to honor her. Aiden and Ava will have the same initials as well, AAI, so it worked out perfectly! We can't wait to meet her in April!

Here is a 25 Week Belly Picture...

I had an appointment on Monday with my OB. Everything looks perfect, she is measuring right on schedule. I only gained 2 Lbs since my last visit which surprised me after all the goodies I ate over the holidays! I am up about 10 Lbs so far but I am sure that will increase in the coming months! I am going to have my glucose testing done next week and they also test my RH levels since I am RH negative. I go back on the 26th for another monthly visit and to get my Rhogam injection ( this is done since I have a negative blood type and Chris is a postive) I will also be given another after delivery. After that visit, we go every two weeks! I cannot believe I am already starting to go in bi-monthly! Time is flying!!!!! Chris and I got a lot done around the house while on vacation last week, we are slowly getting prepared for babies arrival. Our goal is to have the nursery done in February, I can't wait to get started! We are scheduled for our hospital tour in late February since this is a new hospital and Aiden is going to attend his own sibling class in early March to help prepare him for what to expect when the baby arrives.

Next weekend is Aiden's 5th Birthday party! I cannot believe he is turning 5 years old already. He is looking forward to celebrating with his friends at Pump it up. His official Birthday is January 19th. Our dog, Casey also has a birthday this month, she will be 11 years old on January 18th.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and is having a great New Year so far!

Holiday Photos

Just wanted to share some holiday pictures..... We had a wonderful holiday this year!

Dana and Seth

Here we are at the Davis's. We had dinner and exchanged gifts with them the weekend prior to the holidays. Aiden received a wonderful Power Rangers book that he just loved! On the way home he said he was so proud because he got the book! I thought that was the cutest thing ever

Aiden and Me at Aunt Karen's on Christmas Eve. This was our last Christmas Eve at Aunt Karen's as she and Uncle Bill are heading to Florida in the coming year!
