Happy Thanksgiving!

Just wanted to wish all that read a Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Thanksgiving is by far my most favorite of holiday. It's a day that is not about anything more than giving thanks for all the blessings in our lives and spending time with those we love (& eating). This year we will be traveling to my parents house. My Mom cooks the most amazing dinner ever! I have never had more amazing stuffing than my Mom's!! I am hungry just thinking about it! We invited Chris's Mom and her husband over this year and my brother in law will be bringing over my niece's and nephew. I love the atmosphere of my parents house this time of year. The fire burning in the family room and the Christmas tree lit up beside it, it's so festive and warm. After I eat I can just veg on the couch and be all cozy! The kids get to spend time together acting all silly! I just love it! I am Thankful this year for my family, my wonderful husband for all he does, our sweet son just for being the amazing little boy that he is everyday, my Mother for being supportive not only to me but for being an amazingly supportive wife to my Dad through a very stressful time in their lives. Of course my Daddy, for always being a loving and devoted Father. My Brother in law for being sure that the relationship between my parents and their grandchildren remains strong during this confusing time in their little lives and being sure they stay involved in our lives as well. All my friends and extended family members that mean so much to me. I pray that the coming year brings everyone health and good fortune. I also pray for the healthy arrival of our new baby and cannot wait to spend the next Thanksgiving with a place for him or her at the table.

I more than likely won't be posting again until Monday (afternoon) which is when we find out if we are having a boy or girl!!!! YIPPEE!!!

What a week!!!

This week started out great, I was in a wonderful mood even started listening to holiday music at work and in the car, which Aiden loves, he is singing a long with many of the songs and I love to hear his little voice sing and sometimes make up his own lyrics! Then, I just kept hearing news...not very good news. First, I learned that one of my very close friends (that passed away 7 years ago) father passed away. It brought me a sense of peace that her father is now with her in heaven, but at the same time, it's just hard to swallow. Then, I heard a several more deaths not directly related to me at all but to people I know and care about, which brings me to start thinking of my Grandmother who passed away 2 years ago this month and of course my friend I mentioned above who is always on my mind this time of year.

I also have heard of several people who are ill. One of them is a man I have never met, he lives in my neighborhood and is dying from cancer, he has three young children. Another is a friend of a friend's baby who was born on Chris's birthday and is in the NICU. Another is a co-worker and yet another a co-workers parent. Yet another friend who has a sick baby awaiting surgery. It just makes me wonder why things seem to happen around the holidays, I know things happen all throughout the year but for some reason it seems like you hear more bad news around the holidays. At the same time, maybe these things happen as a lesson for us to all appreciate the time we have with those we love.

I am going to move onto Thanksgiving week with a more positive outlook, continue to pray for those who are suffering, accept the things I cannot change (which I am dealing with quite a few personally right now, but that is for another time) and be grateful for the many blessings in my life. I am going to make myself turn back on the Christmas music which I find interesting that I inadvertently stopped listening to mid-week in hopes it helps to lift my spirit.

Happy Birthday Chris

Today is special day, it's my husband's Birthday.
Chris,
Thank you for being so supportive of me especially through all the hard times we have been faced with during the past couple of years. You will never understand how much I appreciate the time you took and continue to take to attend almost every RE and OB appointment with me. You have been there for me through my darkest moments and I know you will continue to be there to also share in the brightest of moments. I know sometimes I take the small things you do for granted, but I want you to know that I appreciate every little thing you do for me. You are a wonderful Father to Aiden and I am blessed to have a partner in life that is so involved and committed to his child(ren). I am sure our lives will continue to me faced with more challenges along the way however, I am blessed and feel comforted that I have a husband that will be with me every step of the way. I love you! Happy Birthday!!!

The 'Pregnant Man' Is Expecting Again

So funny because my best friend and I were just talking about this last night and we didn't know he was expecting again!

There is just something so NOT right about this, well I guess maybe because it's a man having a baby but, it seriously creeps me out!!!!! The first time I learned of this, we were trying to get pregnant and I kept saying it's pretty bad when a man gets pregnant before us. Well, he is pregnant again and this time around, I am blessed to be expecting my own little bundle of joy. However, when I hear the news of #2 on the way for this man, it still disturbs me as just as much if not more than the first time around.

Just my random thought for the day.........

Good News...Bad News

This has been a hectic week for me! First, Sunday night I did not sleep well at all, could be the fact I laid around in my pj's all day Sunday and got plenty of rest. Monday rolled around and I was fine then started getting a horrible back ache in the afternoon. Chris was getting ready to leave for a trip for work and last time I recall this particular type of pain it was a UTI. I decided to call the OB's office and see if they could have me run by the lab for a quick pee test as I didn't want to have to deal with it getting worse when he was out of town. I called and they got me into his office right away which was nice. I was pretty uncomfortable. The nurse said I had some white blood cells in my specimen, so she wanted to send it off to the lab for further testing, in the meantime, they checked my cervix to be sure it was nothing more, they started me on the antibiotic just incase it was an infection since the results would not be back until today and sent me on my way. They also both mentioned could be a pulled muscle.

I went home Monday evening, rested, took my first antibiotic and some tylenol. I felt a little sick to my stomach. After going to bed, Chris got up for something at around 1 AM and after that...forget it, I could not fall back to sleep for the life of me. Then, I told him about 5 AM there was no way I could make it to work. I got up to get Aiden ready and got sick while I brushed my teeth. I took him over to school and came back home trying to get back to sleep but, could not sleep. Then, the OB office calls to cancel my ultrasound appt for the 26th!!! I was not happy about that but since I had to call the nurse today I figured I would just ask if my OB could do the ultrasound at my appt on the 26th, I made the original ultrasound at 11 with the tech and my appt with him at 11:30. Anyway, I decided I would take a benedryl last night to help me sleep since this was night #2 with lack of sleep which I NEED, I am not a person who can go with out my sleep. So, headed to bed last night with Aiden and took the benedryl, well stated to fall alseep them, up every 20 minutes, and my heart was beating fast, I could just feel my pulse laying there in bed, it was not fun! So, I came to work this morning, not sure how I am still here but I figure if I stay home I will still not be able to sleep so I should just allow my mind to get as tired as the rest of me and hopefully tonight I will CRASH!

Called the nurse this morning after getting to work, left a message needed my lab results also wanted my Quad screen results if they were in since I had that bloodwork done late last week. So she called back and said the UTI screen was negative which is great, I don't have to take the antibiotics anymore. I may have just pulled something in my back. Then I told her my ultrasound appt was cancelled for the 26th and I was upset since I really wanted to find out the sex prior to Thanksgiving, she said she would check with the Dr and call me back she also had to get my Quad screen results. She called back and he wants to wait until the official 20 week mark to do the ultrasound so I had to reschedule for Dec. 1st...not a happy camper about that, but I guess we will have to wait a few more days. More importantl, my Quad screen came back normal! AMEN!

So that is my week so far, I also can't take anything else to help me sleep so I just pray I get some rest tonight!!! Also sounds like the only thing I can take is benedryl to help me sleep and I will not be doing that again!

In other good news, I have been feeling the little one move a lot the past few days! That just puts a smile on my face every time I feel it!!!

Halloween Night

Here Aiden is trick or treating at the house with the "witch and the pumpkin." EVERY DAY for a month Chris and I would have to stop the car when we passed this house so he could see the witch and the pumpkin. Sometimes he would put his window down and yell, "Get out of that pumpkin you silly witch!" I just had to take a picture of him with is favorite yard decoration!

Here he is doing his power ranger "moves"

Here are his little girl friends hugging him at school, he is already a such ladies man!!

Here is a picture of my friend's little guy Seth, he was the cutest Duck ever!!!
