Ava's Ear Piercing

I went through with it and Ava had her ears pierced last Friday. Thank goodness Amy went with us, she held Ava as I couldn't do it. I couldn't even watch....

Here she is after..the nurse had to do her right ear twice, no one was happy about that but, I would , much rather get it taken care of now than have to uneven holes. Ava did GREAT, she didn't like being held down but she only cried for a few seconds after each one. She even gave the nurse her bottom lip frown when all was said and done. :-(

Here we are both happy it's over with! She fell asleep within two minutes of getting into the car.
I took her into my office afterwards to see everyone.

Here she is showing off her new earrings!
She has done great so far, hasn't pulled at them once and doesn't
seem to mind much when I clean them either.
See!!!

Happy!

SO Cute!

Aiden's Busy Weekend

It's pretty sad that my 5 year old has a busier social calendar than me! He had a flag football game Saturday morning. The Beavers played in the pouring rain and won the game! After that, he had a birthday party at World of Bounce. Sunday he had another birthday party at Magic Mountain!

To Pierce or Not to Pierce

I knew if I ever had a baby girl I wanted to get her ears pierced at an early age. First, because I think getting it done before they are even old enough to remember is easier on them. I remember getting mine done around 5 years old and it hurt! I remember being so scared and having one done and not wanting to get the other done. Second, I just think it just looks precious on a little girl.

Now... I have a precious little angel and I haven't gotten her ears pierced yet. I read they need to wait to have their first two sets of shots. So, I decided since she has the green light now is the time. Yesterday, I called and made the appointment at her pediatricians office. Then I started reading about it on the Internet........damn Internet............I never in a million years knew what a controversial subject this is for so many, I mean people really feel strongly against having this done. I also mentioned it to her sitter last night and she seemed concerned that he might try to pull them out. So, I started second guessing my decision. I always seem to worry about what everyone else has to say....then finally today I said, I am getting it done!!!!!! I am not going to allow other peoples opinions influence a decision I made for my child.

I think "eventually" she will thank me later, it will hurt now, she will cry a little, but she doesn't know any better and will she will not have the fear she would if I were to wait until she gets older. If for some reason she ends up not wanting earrings, they come can come out! I will keep them clean, I won't have to argue with her over not wanting me to clean them, it will just become part of out daily routine.

She is getting little tiny diamond studs, which is her birthstone. They now come with screw on backs so she can't take them out herself. She will become accustomed to having them in and it won't phase her when she gets older. I don't plan on putting her in huge hoops, not until she is at least Three! LOL! Just kidding!!!! I would take them out the second I think she could hurt herself or if I feel they are causing her any discomfort.

Her Godmother Amy and I are taking her on Friday afternoon. I took a half day off of work and will be sure to take pictures and post them!

Wish me luck! Even if you think I am a bad Mommy!
(you are entitled to your opinion)

It's my Blogiversary!

I realized it's been ONE entire year since I started posting to my blog! Time has flown this past year but a lot of good things have happened! Most importantly, of course, is the arrival of Ava! It's amazing how once you have children you can't imagine you life without them!
Both of my kids make me so happy and proud to be their Mommy!

This week has been extremely hectic for me at work, it's times like these I question coming back to the office but, I just have to keep telling myself to take it day by day. I have a wonderful and understanding boss. I am just grateful for my job and that I can work and provide for my kids. Plus, I am not sure I could stay home all the time. I might go a little crazy.

Aiden is doing great at school! He has homework projects we need to work on in the next two weeks. My favorite part of the day second to picking the kids up, is looking through his back pack when we get home. I love seeing his papers and getting all the school stuff to read over. This week he got the paper to purchase books and it's the same one I remember as a kid...takes me back! Thursday was school picture day this week, I can't wait until they come back! His first field trip is the 1st week of October, I asked if he wanted me to come as a chaperone and he said no...that's fine, I almost want him to go with out me for the experience. It wouldn't be the same if I was there so maybe he will want me to go on his next one, if not, that's okay. I do plan on going to the school to have lunch with him on Tuesday next week and I am looking forward to that very much!!

Ava is also wonderful! She seems to grow more and more every minute! She is really enjoying her food now! The past couple of nights she has just chowed down at dinner time! She is also sleeping really well through the night. I went in this morning to her little music player in her crib on and she was staring up at the light show that plays on the ceiling. Her hands were behind her head and her one leg was completely out of her pajamas! I am not sure how she got the snaps undone but it was the cutest thing ever! I wish I would have taken a picture of her. She looked like she was up partying in her crib all night. She is SO pleasant in the morning, always smiling and happy. I am trying to decide when to get her ears pierced. I knew I wanted it done when she was young. I just need to go and get it over with already!

Nothing else too super exciting to report, stuff seems pretty calm right now, it's nice....we have flag football in the morning and the rest of the weekend is pretty open which we need every once in a while!

Playtime, Sleeptime, I don't like Grass on my feet time!

Ava loves her swing! She is starting to lean over to try to pick
up her toys when they fall off the tray!
Just chillin, watching one of big brothers shows with him.

Aiden giving his sister love, looks like she is slapping him! LOL
Ava's first football game, watching big brother walk before the game.

Playtime

Sleeptime

I really don't like grass on my feet time!

This was a true kodak moment. We took Ava out front and sat her in the grass and she held up her legs, needless to say she isn't a fan of the grass yet!

Ready for the OSU party!

All Clean!

Out like a light!

Flag Football

Aiden is playing flag football this fall. His team name is the the Beavers! The league is 5-6 year olds so he is one of the younger players. He has never played before so his inexperience along with his lack to focus at times is a bit of a challange....but he continues to practice and he really enjoys being part of the team which is the most important thing! Sadly, I think he may have inherited my athletic ability (or lack there of) from me....instead of his Dad..

This deserves a post of it's own........I am sorry but who allows their child to wear his hair like this? It's not cute...not only is it a mohawk but it's also a mullet! This is just bad on so many levels.....Second, does he look 6 to you? Poor little Aiden was thrown like a piece of trash by this boy during this first ever scrimmage..... no wonder he keeps saying he doesn't want to play the big reds again! LOL!

High School Night and First Games

My First Cereal...

Here are a few pictures of Ava the first two are from his first feeding and the second are from more recent! So far she has tried, cereal, applesauce, pears, bananas, sweet potatoes and peaches. She seems to LOVE sweet potatoes the most!

It's okay..... she wasn't overly thrilled with the bananas!
I can do it myself! She already wants to hold the spoon.

A bit of a messy eater!!!! I already started using disposable bibs!

Kindergarten Rocks!

Here are a few pictures from Aiden's first day of school.
( I only cried a little!)
I posted a link a few weeks backi, but finally had time to download the pictures! He is now starting his 4th week and is still loving it! He is making new friends and is looking forward to his first field trip at the beginning of October. I am looking forward to his first official school pictures this week and going to have lunch with him some day very soon!

This is my favorite! Him getting off the bus running to me!

So sweet!
