Our 8th Anniversary!

Chris and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary yesterday. Although we were across the country from one another, I will still consider it "celebrating." This is one of my favorite pictures from our wedding day! Since Chris could not be here in person, he decided to send me a little something at work.....

Since just a nice bouquet of flowers won't do....Chris had to go the extra mile this year to make up for being out of town... I walked into the lobby after being called by the security desk asking me to come sign for a package to an Elvis impersonator jumping out at me...I turned the corner and co workers were everywhere to watch "the show"....COMPLETE EMBARRASMENT! He sang three songs, gave me a dozen roses and some balloons! Certainly an anniversary I won't forget any time soon! The picture above tells a thousand words....

Duckie Derby 2010

The Duckie Derby is a charty event held at our local pool suring the splash into summer celebration. Ducks are sold and all proceeds going to the Patches of Light organization that helps critically ill children and their families. When a duck is purchased you put your name and # on the bottom with a sharpie. They put all the ducks into the lazy river and the first duck to cross the finish line wins!

This is the duck I hand picked to put Ava's name on this year!

And she was the FIRST place winner!!!!!!

We were so excited! She won a cornhole set and a t shirt! She is a little to young to appreciat her prize however, her Daddy and Brother were super excited!

Long Week!

It's only been a little over a week since I last posted and it feels like an eternity!!!!!!!!

Chris has been traveling a lot for work, which I might have mentioned, so last week he was out of town all week. I am getting used to being a "single" mother although, I don't enjoy it! Last Wednesday night I went in to check on Ava as I do every night prior to going to sleep and she was breathing really heavy. So I put my hand on her back and she felt really warm so I felt her head and she was burning up! I picked her up, took her teemperature and sure enough 102.7! I gave her tylenol and put her in my bed with me. She could not get comfortable so I decided to go ahead and put her back in her crib. I was up that night every hour or two checking on her. She was still really hot. I took her to our peditrician first thing Thursday morning. (praise the lord for those walk in hours everyday!!!) I thought she might possibly have strep since Aiden just had it a few weeks ago but she had another double ear infection!!!! The Doctor also said she had a bad virus which was causing her fever to be so high and consistant. So, she is on another 10 days of Omniceft and this was her ticket to tubes :-( We are in between insurance coverage right now and leaving for vacation in a little over a week so I made her appt with the ENT for July 12th. We will be discussing her ears and I assume setting a date for her to have tubes put in in later July. I am sad but I know it needs done and I can't stand seeing her sick anymore.

I ended up having to stay home with her on Thursday and Friday since she was still running a fever early Friday morning. I didn't want to risk her giving her virus to the other little guy she goes to daycare with, so we spent some quality time together. Here she is on Friday afternoon after she started to feel more like herself! She loves her ball popper now! Also she weighs 21.4 lbs now! I can't believe how big she is getting!

Chris is traveling again this week for work. My mother in law came to help me this week. Like I said I almost feel like I have this down now...I know that I cannot get a shower any time but once the kids go to bed so my shower time is normally 9:30-10PM. I have to run to the store either at lunch or leave work a few minutes early to hit walmart on my way home if I need something. I don't make dinner most nights if I do it's something super simple! Luckily, this should be the last full week for him traveling. He is back next week then we are headed to Florida on the 26th!!!!! After that he has a quick 3 day trip and he should be staying close to home from here on out! :-)

My Uterus is Retired

I had a baby item garage sale!

Therefore, my Uterus is officially retired!

This was a HUGE step for me! I kept EVERYTHING from both kids mainly because I was waiting for #2 to come along for three years and if it was a boy I wanted to keep all Aiden's stuff. (with the exception of a few things I gave to friends for their little ones). Aiden is now 6 years old so that means for 7 years I have been accumulating baby and kids clothes/toys and other items. I started pulling all our bins and bags of stuff out of our basement crawl space last Thursday. Once it was all out it was INSANE to see it all in the garage! I averaged 2 bins of clothes per year for Aiden and Ava was already averaging double that with 4 bins of clothes for just this past year! Some things were brand new with tags still on them. I think every other person that came by my garage on Fri and Sat asked if I had twins! LOL! I had two of a lot of items since when Aiden was in home daycare I purchased a second bouncer and saucer and things like that for him to take over to his daycare providers house. I have very mixed emotions about saying good bye to all these things...and that is what they are...just things! I still have all the memories in my heart and those will never be taken away! I managed to sell a ton of stuff!!!!! I still have a ton of stuff left so I am trying to sell a few things on Craigs list and I will be taking the clothing over a few boxes at a time to the local gently used children's store. I am lucky there is one very close to my office so I can make it a lunch time errand. I offered for my neighbor to come and take whatever she wanted for her little boy and she didn't take me up on the offer (crazy if you ask me but to each their own). Everyone keeps joking saying that now that I am getting rid of every thing I will end up pregnant. LOL! That is the way it always happens! Well, now that we got a little extra cash....something had to break that will cost us money and as ironic as it is...the garage door opener decided to stop working on Monday morning! We were planning on replacing the door in a few months anyway so now we will be getting a new door and door opener installed next week....so much for being ahead!

40 Years

This Sunday, May 30th, my parents will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary!

This is a picture of them on their wedding day. I wish I could be with them to celebrate but we will be celebrating on vacation next month with our family in Florida.

I feel so blessed that my parents are still together after all these years!

Happy Anniversay Mom and Dad!

XOXO

Water Fun!

Last weekend was super hot so we broke out the sprinker on Sunday! It was Ava's first time so she took a little time taking in all in and then got right in the water with her brother!

Here is is checking it out....I love that he has no fear, I can't wait to take her to the pool!

All wet....now what???
This coming weekend we are going to get out the big blow up waterslide! Ahe is still to young for that so I got her a little blow up pool. I am sure she will have a lot of fun splashing around in there, pictures will follow!
