That's an under statement!
My goal was to update at least once a week but, it seems like a few of the items on my "to do" list get pushed off until the next day an awful lot lately!
Ava was three weeks old on Monday. She is doing great! She had her 2 week check up last week and was up to 7lbs 4 ozs. She is still eating every 3-4 hours, I am looking forward to when she can last a good 6 hours during the night, but trying to just enjoy this time with her now and tell myself, this won't last forever! Someday I might miss these sleepless nights, maybe not the lack of sleep, anyone who knows me knows I like my sleep! But there is something so special about cuddling her in the middle of the night when the house is silent.
Aiden is also doing a great, He is an awesome Big Brother! He has amazed me from the moment he laid eyes on her. He is always wanting to hug and kiss her. If he doesn't see her the minute he gets home from daycare he asks where she is and he goes to see her immediately! He and Chris planted a tree for her on Arbor day. We planted a tree the year he was born so we decided to also plant one for her. It's a small magnolia tree, the flowers are beautiful just like her! It will bloom every year around her Birthday which I also love! I posted a pic below of the planting of the tree.
Chris and I are adjusting. We both are doing our best at balancing it all. He keeps Aiden busy a lot while I take care of Ava. I also try to do as much as possible with Aiden. Sometimes I feel like my head is spinning but, overall we are doing well!
Here is a list of things we have gotten accomplished the past three weeks, not to shabby considering Little Ms. Ava likes her bottles like clock work, which means by the time she eats, burps, sits up a little (to avoid the dreaded spit up), gets dressed, diaper changed and ready to go, which normally takes about about an hour, I have only two hours until feeding time again.......
-I have managed to shower and brush my teeth before 3PM every day! (There were days with Aiden I think I didn't brush my teeth until 3PM at the beginning, I know that's gross but it's true...this time around I am doing a little better at time management and Chris working from home helps too!) I have also managed to keep my children clean and bathed!
- I am keeping our refrigerator stocked with food! No one has starved yet! Ava has been to the grocery store two times already! I am keeping up with the laundry, house cleaning is on the list, but has taken a back seat for now. I do what is necessary and try to do whatever I can when I get time.
-We have gone to Soccer games every Saturday to watch Aiden play, (a tap and tumble recital for Aiden last Saturday as well as soccer, long day!) & Lacrosse on Sundays.
- I have sent all my Thank You cards out and sending out all Mother's Day cards today! Chris did the ordering of flowers online last night, wonder if I will get any?
-We had our two week Dr. appointment for Ava.
-Ava and I took our first trip to the mall!
We met Amy and Seth for shopping and lunch!
She slept the entire time! I might be in trouble with the shopping
for her. Just too many cute things out there!
-We went out to dinner for the first time as a family of 4.
- I took her to my office to meet all my co-workers. They all loved her!
-I went to the bank and opened up Ava's savings account.
-I cleaned out my closet, I am still sporting the maternity jeans some days (helps hide the tummy) but everything else maternity is back in bins and my normal clothes are back in there place, hopfully they will all fit soon. I still can't seem to give them up the maternity clothes yet, I am going to keep them just a little while longer........(but, this is my last child......just having issues with letting go right now)
I have posted pictures below of the past two weeks.....I am going to try really hard to do better at updating. I already have new pictures on my camera that need downloaded...I will get to those eventually!
