Aiden's Birthday party was this past Saturday at Fliptastic Gymnastics! He and his friends had a wonderful time! They played games, did an obstacle course, jumped on the trampoline, went a cross a zip line and had cake! Every friend he invited was able to attend! It was so wonderful that he was able to celebrate his 6th Birthday with all his friends!
Little Ava had plans of her own this past weekend that included getting a second sinus infection that landed us at the Peditricians office on Sunday monring. I am so glad they have weekend hours, it has saved us trips to the ER or urgent care on several occasaions! She was put on a stonger antibiotic this time. Then, she gave it to Mommy! So I was at my Doctor's office on Monday morning getting my Rx for a second round of antibiotics. Both of us were pretty miserable on Monday. Yesterday was a little better but we stayed home to rest again and we are both back on our regular routine today.
It was so hard leaving her this morning. She is in good spirits I just feel like she needs her Mommy when she is sick. However, she isn't sick enough that I can use more time off work to stay home. It's too early in the year for just taking days plus I missed a few when Grandma Argie passed. So I am back today, stuggling but back...
Here are the pictures from Aiden's Birthday Extravaganza! He is one lucky and loved little boy!

Longest Week Ever!!!!!
This seems like the longest week ever and I didn't even have to work on Monday!!!!
I am not sure if it's from last week being an emotional week or being away this weekend or all the unnecessary DRAMA that I have to listen to after Grandma's passing...I won't go into that as it just makes me upset and my blood BOILS!!!!!
I took Monday off to get unpacked and Ava had an appt in the afternoon so it was a good day to stay at home and since I only used one of the three days I get for bereavment I fidured why not take the day off!
Tuesday life was back to "normal", after school and work we went to Chuck E Cheese for Aiden's birthday. He is so sweet. He had no idea we were going but it was already his BEST Birthday ever after school and all he had gotten to do so far was take his friends cookies to celebrate with them at snack time! So, we told him we had a surprise and I loved hearing his guesses, he wanted to know if it was somewhere you eat so he did guess Chuck e Cheese first then Joe's crab shack since he love's Joe's! Then he started with off the wall places like Zoombezi Bay or Co Co Keys- so he didn't find out until we pulled into the parking lot. We had a really great time and Ava enjoyed it as well! Just one word of wisdom....don't ever get the salad bar at Chuck E Cheese. I was feeling horrible once we got home and I knew I should not have eaten off that thing!!!! EEEEk, makes me sick to think about it.
Once we got home, Amy and Seth came over to the house to join us for cake and ice cream and Aiden opened his presents from us and cards that came in the mail. He was so excited about everything!!!! We got him a game table for the basement and he LOVED it!!!!!! It has 14 different games he can play on it. Chris needs to find the time to put that together.
Last night I finally decided to go down and do the Wii Biggest Loser, well I wasn't really happy when I stepped on the balance board and it took my weight so the diet started today!!!!!! Aiden pressed a button on the remote while I was in the middle of the program and it turned it off so I ended up doing the elliptical for about ten minutes, I need to start slow...but I really need to do it everyday if I can, I am just a little tired of my body right now. I am heavier than I have ever been besides being pregnant.
Tonight Aiden has basketball practice so I am taking Ava to the grocery store with me. Tomorrow evening is game night at Aiden's school so we will be going there in the evening. Saturday morning is his first basketball game ( we missed last week which was really the 1st but he isn't aware of that ) Sat afternoon is the Aiden's kids party so that should be a good time! Aiden keeps asking everyday if we are going to Fliptastic today for his party!! I just love his age, everything is so exciting!!!! Mostly all the kids he invited can attend so that makes it even more special!!
Now, we will be planning our little princess's first Birthday party!!!!! Hard to imagine!! She is now 19.2 pounds. I took her to the peditrician on Monday to have her iron checked and it was still low. She has to continue supplements for another month. I hope her numbers increase next month. Other than that she is wonderful! She is getting more vocal and is cruising EVERYWHERE! The other night she was walking along with wall and she is trying to be a big girl and let go but falls a lot! It's so much fun watching her! She also is starting to get a little seperation anxiety, I noticed her cries when I walk away sometimes and she cried this morning when I handed her over to the sitter. That broke my heart! It never does get any easier :-(
I will download pictures from Aiden's party this weekend or early next week!
XOXO

Happy Birthday Aiden!

My baby is 6 years old today!!!! It's amazing how time has flown by so fast yet it seems like he has been in our lives forever. We are so proud of him, he is an amazing little boy, a fantastic big brother and has the ability to put a smile on anyones face he meets. We are so blessed that he is our son! I am taking cookies for his classmates this afternoon then we are heading to Chuck E Cheese this evening for dinner then I got an ice cream cake for later tonight. His party is on Saturday at Fliptastic and he is looking forward to celebrating with all his friends!
Farewell Grandma Argia
Grandma Argie passed away only a few minutes after being transferred to hospice last Thursday. We will hold our memories of her close to our hearts forever.
We told Aiden on Thursday night and that was the hardest thing we ever had to tell him. We wanted to make sure we were honest with him and didn't want to scare him. We also wanted to make sure he understood that he wasn't going to see her again. So we did the best we could.... Chris took him to school the next morning and he told the first friend he saw: "I have some bad news...my NaNa died, she is in heaven now with God and he is making her all better, but, he isn't giving her back"

Grandma Argia

They are moving Grandma Argia into hospice today. She will be taken off everything except her comfort medications. Please pray for her and those around her during this difficult time and that she is surrounded by peace and love. These are a few pictures from the last year of her with her Grandchildren. We are all going to miss her very much.
Go AWAY Snow!
Okay, so I didn't delete the snow yesterday but it's gone now! Whew! Actually it's supposed to be in the 40's today here in Ohio!!! It's so sad that I am actually looking forward to it being 40 degrees! Maybe I can talk Chris into taking down the outside Christmas lights this weekend.

Pull up your big girl panties and get over it!!!!!!
I cancelled the snow effect because quite frankly I am so over the snow already!
Only a few more months until Spring, right???
Well 2010 has been pretty stressful so far!
It started with Ava's ear infection, then I got a sinus infection of course right in time for Chris to go to LA for work the first week back from being off over a week for the holidays! Whew, what a week.... I give complete props to single mothers! I mean the ones that actually are "mothers" and do it one their own, don't pawn their children off on anyone who will take them. ( I know some of those "single mothers" and don't feel bad for them ). The week started with me feeling like total HEL*. So, I went to the doctor and she put me on an antibiotic for a sinus infection. I haven't been sick in such a long time. The timing wasn't so good! Chris left for LA bright and early on Monday AM and the original plan was for my mother in law to come and stay for a few days to help with the kids. Unfortunetly, Chris's Grandma Argie was put into the hospital so she wasn't able to come. I was glad she stayed to be with her especially because she is not doing so well now. I was so proud of myself as I think I did a pretty good job handling both kids the entire week. Ava didn't sleep well at all the entire week, I was super busy at work and it was snowing and freezing cold most of the week as well! I did manage to keep the driveway shoveled, I put Ava in her jumperoo in front of the door and let her watch me and she did fine. Aiden is easy he just watches a show or plays on his computer. I also took the saucer upstairs so when I showered I could put Ava in there and keep an eye on her. After the week ended I had a routine pretty much down but I did welcome Chris back with open arms and gratiously accepted the massage he scheduled for me on Saturday afternoon!
Now this week, Grandma is still in the hospital and we get a call on Monday night that the Doctor thinks Chris's Mom should start calling family. We were planning on going to see her this coming weekend but I didn't want Chris to miss the chance to see her and if something was going to happen we needed to get there right away! So, I called my boss Monday night and explained I needed to take Tuesday off, he was fine with that, I am so lucky to have such a great boss! I didn't want to take Aiden out of school and I thought the 2.5 hour car ride there and back would be a lot for Ava so I started making calls...Seth was sick so Amy (by BF and Ava's GodMother) could not keep Ava which is where I would normally send her for a day like this, so I decided to call her regular daycare provider and ask if she had an issue. She said it was fine but she wanted an emergency contact name and # and I also was having a babysitter we use often Ms. Kristy pick both the kids up at their regular times and take them back to our house until we got home which I didn't expect to be that much later than normal. Ms. Kristy is a daycare teacher at the daycare where Aiden attends and we have known her since he started attending there at 2 1/2.
So, I typed up permission slips for both kids with emergency contact name and numbers....got everything ready.... Tuesday AM I wake up go to take Ava into the sitters and the sitter is acting strange, doesn't say hi or anything, so I take the letter out of Ava's diaper bag and explain the emergency contact is listed as well as Ms. Kristy's name and # and she will show id when she picks up today. The sitter then tells me she needs the names and phone numbers of all of Ava's grandparents because she does not feel comfortable with not having a blood relative as the contact person. At this point, I am already emotional so I start tearing up and explain we don't have any "blood" relatives close to us. She then tells me if "one of these girls" doesn't show up or she can't get a hold of someone she is going to have to call the police! WHAT??????? I immediately took offense to that and said I will be taking Ava with us today. I was SOOOO upset. I told her I am not sure who she thinks I would leave my children with and just left crying.... so I get into the car and Aiden is asking why I am crying and I am trying to explain I am upset but tears are flowing and flowing....so I get him to daycare and go back to pick up Chris since he had a few last minute things to do prior to leaving. It took me a little while to get over the anger but eventually I was able to just relax. Luckily,Ava did great on the way there and back. We were able to see Grandma and she was out of it. Her breathing was very labored and we tried to get her attention but she wasn't responding. She did moan a few times and once opened her eyes a little but that was it. I thought if anything would wake her it would be Ava so I put her hand on Grandma's hand. It is so hard to see loved ones like this and I just hope she doesn't have to suffer to much longer. She has several things going against her right now, her kidney function is not normal, she has several infection including pneumonia and her CO2 levels are extremely high. Sadly, it's only a matter of time now. I am glad we made the trip so see her. We got home right after 5 so we were able to pick Aiden up at daycare. I had Chris take Ava this morning as I was not prepared to do it, I was and still am a little upset. I am not sure what kind of parent she thinks I am but I took it as an complete insult that she was so sure that we were going to skip town and leave our kid with her or something! I have NEVER given her any reason to think otherwise and pride myself on being a good parent. So...maybe she will apologize later when I pick Ava up today, which would be nice but, I am going to swallow my pride, pull up my big girl panties and get over it (mom, that was for you! :-)) and move on.....overall she might be a little set in her ways I guess, but she takes EXCELLENT care of Ava and that is what is most important!
So, please keep Grandma Argie in your prayers....This is the last Grandma we have with us so it will be really hard on both Chris and myself. She has been like my own Grandma for many years now and I just love her so much. She is a wonderful person, spunky and old school Italian, loves her cards and always loved when the kids were around. I tried to get her to give me her meatball recipe yesterday but she wasn't budging! LOL! I will never again taste a meatball as good as hers, I can tell you that!
On a happy note, Ms. Ava is NINE months old today!!!!!! Whew, not sure where the time has gone. We were able to change her formula to the target brand this weekend so I was happy about that! It's half the price of the Enfamil we were using and I am super excited we only have 3 months until we can start milk! She is doing a great job standing so I think she will be walking in no time! Watch out!!!!!!
