Life in the fast lane....

You know the rest!

The next 5 posts are my attempt at catching up!!!!

Father's Day

Yesterday was Father's Day. I decided to take the kids last week to Color me Mine to make Chris a mug as a keepsake since this is Ava's first Father's Day. Aiden painted him a travel mug and I put his handprint and Ava's footprint on it. He absolutely loved it! We also got him some shirts and cologne. He deserves so much more! We also had a cookout at our house yesterday and had a wonderful time. Chris's brother and our friend's the Davis's came over with their kids. We had filets on the grill that were so good. Earlier in the day, Chris went to get a hose splitter from the store so he could hook up the slip and slide and sprinkler at the same time and came home with a huge blow up waterslide! (see pictures above) It was a hit! I know our neighbors hate us but we will only have it inflated for special occasions, we promise! LOL! Yes, we have officially lost our minds, atleast Chris has for now!

Busy Little Boy!

The entire family has been busy these days! I thought since my children were 5 years apart that they would not really play together, boy was I wrong! Aiden is already using his sister as his patient to play doctor with her. It's the cutest thing! He still amazes me everyday! He is a better big brother than I ever could have imagined!
Soccer is finally over so, Aiden is now playing T-Ball every Saturday. OH- and I forgot, swimming starts tonight!
He also attended a local camp called Safty Town two weeks ago. There were 288 kids his age that attended. It was held for 3 hours during a 5 day week. They taught the kids all about safety and the fireman and police officers attended each day. He had a wonderful time learning about safety and made a lot of new friends in the process. One day he asked if he could write a letter to his friends at daycare telling them he was sorry he was not there and he missed them. As if their days would not go on without him there. He is so cute!

Swimming!

We took Ava on her first trip to the pool on Saturday. She slept most of the time under the big umbrella with Daddy while Aiden and I were in the pool. She did get up long enough to have her first dip in the pool. First we tried the baby pool. The water in there is really cold as they drain it daily, so she didn't like that too much. I then took her into the big pool and she really liked it. I didn't want to keep her out in the sun too long but, I think she is going to enjoy the pool! Now we just have to talk Daddy into putting one in the back yard for us!

Our Accident

Ava and I were in a car accident last Tuesday. We are both fine, neither of us or the other passengers involved were injured. Praise the Lord! We were on our way home from Kohl's. I was driving down a road that has been under construction for some time now. (Roberts Rd for those of you that are familiar) A guy that was coming out of his apartment complex failed to yield at a stop sign and ran right into my car. It was on Ava's side as I have two carseats so she cannot be in the middle. I panicked immediately and was in total Mommy Freakout mode but when I got out of the car to get Ava out, I heard his little girl screaming. He had his 14 month old with him. He was very aplolgetic and asked if we were okay, which we were, then I asked him if he and his little one were alright and they seemed to be fine. My next question was please tell me you have insurance. He has full coverage. So we called 911 and the police came. Figures it has to happen on the only day I leave the house in a strapless sundress to run into Kohl's. So there I am in a strapless dress on the side of the road, feeding my baby because she was already screaming for a bottle prior to the accident. Luckily, Chris was home so he was able to get to us in minutes. As of now my car has about $8,000 damages. The other car involved is totaled. We are still ironing out details but I hope to get out of my lease since the car is so damaged. I don't feel safe driving the car even if it is repaired. We also have every attorney and chiropractor's office in the Columbus area calling......it's very annoying! This was my first accident ever and it was such a scary experience but like I said before just so blessed no one was hurt. The car and be replaced, we can't!

Two Months.....

Our little girl is 2 months old! I am not sure where the time has gone but I fall more in love with her every day! She is starting to smile and laugh all the time now and she is just a wonderful and happy baby! Her two month doctors appt was last Monday. She now weighs 11.2 pounds. She had her immunizations (two shots and an oral) and was not a very happy baby that evening! She also vomited all over me at the doctors office after they gave her the oral medication. She apparently does not like the taste of citrus! I will have to keep that in mind when we start solids!

Ava's First Photo Shoot

Wow! Just realized last time I posted was May 6th! Time is just flying!!!!! We have been so busy! As if having a newborn does not keep us busy enough, we are still in the process of finishing the basement. That is "almost complete." I will be so happy when it is finally DONE! We also had our front porch re-done since the contractor screwed that up last fall. Aiden just finished up soccer and lacrosse and will be starting t-ball next week. He is getting so excited about starting kindergarten in August! We found out he did get into the all day school so we are really excited about that. He continues to be the best big brother to Ava! It's the sweetest thing I have ever witnessed! He just loves his sister!

Ava is perfect! She had her one month appointment two weeks ago and weighed 8 lbs 10 ounces so, I think it's safe to say she is well over 9 lbs now. We are still dealing with her reflux but she is on medicine that is helping and we are still experimenting with formulas, but I think we have it in check now! She slept from 9PM until 2:45AM last night and that was awesome! We hope she keeps that up! She is starting to give us little smiles and it melts my heart! We are enjoying the weather taking walks when we can and she has been great on the go! She likes to sleep in her carrier while I shop so I am able to bring her along when I run errands throughout the day.

We went to visit family over Memorial Day, that was our first trip with two kids. We can no longer take Casey (the dog) since there is no longer room for her in the car! She went to the doggy hotel. We had a wonderful time! Ava got to meet her Great Grandma Argia whose name we used as her middle name. We went to a party at Chris's cousins on Sunday and them my Aunt, Uncle, Grandfather and nieces and nephew came to my parents on Monday so everyone got to meet Ava. I will have to post those pictures soon....I am a little behind on downloading pictures.
