Ava's 4 Month Check-up

We had Ava's 4 Month Check-up yesterday and everything is perfect! She weighed in at 13 lbs and 13 ounces and is 24 inches long, both are at the 50% percentile and her head is a little smaller at 25%. She is mastering all the milestones for her age and we were given the okay to start her on solid foods. I did give her a little watered down cereal last week and she wasn't interested so I might try again this week. She is has also become a belly sleeper, it's very cute. When she gets tired she rolls over sticks her thumb in her mouth and is OUT! She actually did it yesterday on the doctors table before the nurse came in to give her the dreaded shots. I asked the Doctor if it was okay and he said there isn't much we can do about it as long as we are putting her down on her back. I still check on her everytime I get up at night. She is sleeping GREAT, sometimes she gets up once but the majority of the time she sleeps all night. She was a little fussy last night due to the vaccinations but that is to be expected. I still cannot believe how fast she is growing up on me! It's so crazy to me that time seems to be flying even faster with her than it did with Aiden.

Speaking of the little man, he had strep throat last week but is MUCH better now! He started flag football this week and will start KINDERGARTEN a week from today.....I am already tearing up just thinking about it! :-(

August Rush

August is by far the busiest month of the year for us, atleast this year! We have been busy in general during the week with work, house work, taking the kids to daycare and all that fun stuff. Then we have had weekends full of activities as well. We are having so much fun but I feel like I need to stop and catch my breath at some point!

Our next two to three weeks are going to be just as hectic! Aiden starts flag football practice tonight. He will have practices twice a week until school starts then once a week and his games will be on Saturday mornings. His team name is the Beavers (LOL).

We have doctors appointments and school meetings to attend during the next two weeks and it's crunch time for getting Aiden ready for school. I am not sure who is more excited about him starting! I can't wait to start volunteering at his school. I plan on being involved as much as I can even with my full time job. I am close enough to the school that I can even go over for an hour at lunch to help out if necessary. I think I am still in disbelief that he is old enough to be going to school!

I took a few minutes this morning to post pictures from the past two weeks...I have found it is much easier just posting the link to our picture albums through kodak, I hope everyone can view them with out any issues! I can't wait until the day I am posting those first day of school pictures!!! It's such an exciting time for us! I have one starting kindergarten and one starting cereal!

Ava's Baptism

Our beautiful little girl was baptized on Sunday, August 9th. We were able to have her baptized at a church in our home town, which we also did with Aiden, so that our family could all be present. It was such a wonderful day and I can't explain how blessed I feel that she is in our lives. We are so thankful for her. I really don't have the words..... She is a true gift from God.

The ceremony was very nice and the Pastor and all those that attended the service were so welcoming to us and our family. It really made me realize that I need to make going to church more of a priority in my life. I would like for Aiden to start attending Sunday school regularly as I did when I was a little girl.

We chose Amy and Felix as Ava's Godparents. They gave her a beautiful necklace with a cross charm, a charm with her name and baptism date and birthstone charm. It was precious and something she will always have as a symbol of the love they have for her. Amy also made her a beautiful bracelet. She also received so many other generous gifts however, the presence of our friends and family were all we needed to make the day special.

After the ceremony we had a party at my parents house. As always they made the day extra special! My Mom worked so hard cooking and setting up for the party. I could never thank her enough! (Dad did as well) I can never thank either of them enough for all they do for me and my children. The kids along with some of the adults went swimming. We all ate a ton of good food and cake, cookies and cupcakes! We were so happy that Grandma Argie left the nursing home to come spent the afternoon with us. She has not left in months and she decided to attend the party. I know it was hard for her as she always feels like a burden but it meant the world to us to have here there. She also told us that she was named after her great grandmother so knowing that we are keeping a tradition going using her name as Ava's middle made us realize just how special it was that we chose her name. We pray that she is around for many more of the milestones in out children's lives.

I have attached two links of pictures from the Baptism day....

Happy 60th Daddy!

Saturday August 8th was my Dad's 60th Birthday! We were able to spend the day with him which was so special! We went to dinner at Bahama Breeze in the evening with my parents, brother in law, nieces and nephew. It was a very nice evening! Then we went back to my parents house and had ice cream cake! I am very glad that we were able to spend the day with him, I cherish every minute we have together!

The Ohio State Fair

Last week was the first time I attended the Ohio State Fair. I have to say it was actually better than I expected. We decided to send Ava to her Aunt Amy's (AKA Godmother's) for the afternoon and just take Aiden. We had a GREAT time riding rides, going on the big slide and eating lots of good food! Chris even got on some rides that we had to talk him into riding. We were all a little frightened on the big ferris wheel especially when we got stopped at the very top. It was a beautiful sunny day and while we up there we were able to get a great picture with the city in the background! I was suprised at how big it is as well, you could spend two days there and still not see everything there is to see! I am looking forward to going back again next year! Well, I missed the cow carved out of butter which is all I talked about prior to attending so that is my goal for next year!!!!

Irish Festival 2009

On Saturday August 1st we attended the annual Dublin Irish Festival. There was plenty of great food, drinks and entertainment. We spent most of our time in the kids area with Aiden. He had a great time. I have attached the link with pictures! The first one is the back of Ava's outfit after she rolled over, I just loved the little butterflies on her bottom!!!
